1 Day in Venice
I can be quite impulsive from time to time. This time my impulsive act was to treat my boyfriend to a trip to Venice without him knowing. Well, in the end he found out anyway, but that didn’t ruin the fun at all. We were only there for one long day, arriving the evening before and leaving early in the morning the day after. Still we did a bunch of things. Things you just might like as well.
In Venice there are two options to discover the city: by land or by water. During our trip, however, the difference was not that big. We had the famous acqua alta, which means in most streets the waterlevel came to our ankles or higher. It was a unique experience and we had a lot of fun supporting each other in the hope not to fall.

Venice is full of cultural treasures. It’s basically one big museum. We gave our feet some time to dry at Trame di Moda, with red carpet looks and costumes of the Venice Film Festival at Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo. The dress below was worn by Madonna, on the occasion of her movie W.E., by the way.

We stayed at Locanda Ca’ Le Vele, a cosy guest-house with a great location, a typical Venetian interior, friendly staff and breakfast in bed.

Vain as we are, Jonas and I had a mini photo shoot on San Marco Square by night.

One suprise my boyfriend didn’t know of, was that I had reserved tickets for an opera gala at the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista. We were treated to the most famous pieces of Italian opera in a majestic decor. We both had a great time.

Besides strolling around, visiting museums and going to the opera we indulged ourselves with food. Here are our addresses:

Ristorante da Raffaele
San Marco 2347

Alla prossima!
Vincent
