Lunchtime in CPH
It’s almost noon so time to find a great place to have lunch. If you are in Copenhagen at the moment, I have some good news for you. Here are my lunch tips from my trip to this great city. Enjoy your lunch.
SMAG
My first lunch in Copenhagen was with the kind community manager from Yelp, Emily. She took me to this great little salad bar called Smag. A bright and fresh interior matches the dishes they sell.

When you order a small plate, you can then choose 3 different salads from a large variety of preparations. I had a hard time choosing. To top it off you may choose 2 toppings accompanied by a piece of bread. You pay around 50 DKK for a small salad. It was plenty, more a medium size than a small one in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this lunch. Fresh, light and tasty. What more does a girl need? The people next to us were so kind to let me take a picture of their lunch because I was so hungry that I forgot to take one of my own plate.
R VINBAR
After our shopping tour my mom, her best friend and I had a pitstop at a wine bar. The first thing that caught my eye were all the R’s on the wall. Such a nice touch.

They serve a small selection of tapas and a variety of cold dishes. And of course they have a large wine card. You can check it out on their website.

My mom tried the charcuterie dish. Which was enough for two people. I tasted some of the salami and it was really good. Obviously very fresh and not too greasy.

I am a huge salmon fan so when I saw the smoked salmon on the menu I didn’t have to think twice about what I wanted to order. It was really fresh and had a soft smoked taste. The texture was sublime. They served it with little danish buns. A nice light lunch.
PALUDAN BOGCAFE
I didn’t have the chance to eat here but I took a quick look at the plates of the other people sitting there and it all looked very tasty. You can take a look on their website to see the menu. What I liked most about this place were all the books. Such a cosy interior. It makes you want to order a coffee and read a book.
TORVEHALLERNE
Our last day in Copenhagen we went to the food market. This was a great tip from Emily. Unfortunately a lot of the places were closed on monday but we still had a lot of choice.

I really liked the atmosphere here. All the little booths with foods and specialities. It’s also a treat for the eye. So if you like taking photos I would suggest having lunch over there. All the faces, colours and shapes are quite interesting.

We tried a danish dish, a sort of huge fish cake. Very tasty but a bit on the heavy side and also too large.

The lunches aren’t that cheap but still a lot of people come here during their break. I think the fresh ingredients and the atmosphere are deal breakers.

If you are ever in Copenhagen, make sure to pass by the Torvehallerne. You can go for a cup of coffee at Kent Kaffe Lab afterwards, it’s only 2 minutes away. Read all about this place in my post about my CPH Coffee Tour.

I hope you liked the lunch tips I gave you. Hopefully I can return to Copenhagen very soon so I can find more great places to have lunch. If you have any tips. You can always mail them to me : julie@strutterview.com.
