Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends

With my 2 friends having all kinds of awesome foreign adventures these last weeks, it seems like Strutter View is kinda turning into a travel blog right now. Sooooooo I thought it was about time for some beauty ramblings about a couple of products with which I like to spoil myself from time to time: the Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends line.

These products were already waiting for a review for a while now, but since I have such a weakness for beautiful packaging, I couldn’t find it in my heart to open one of these beautiful bottles. That seems to be a rather annoying trait of mine, because there are still some other wonderful products waiting in my closet, longing for my attention ;).

Kiehl’s introduced four “blends” in the aromatic blends line: Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit, Orange Flower & Lychee, Fig Leaf & Sage and Vanilla & Cedarwood. Although it was really hard for me to pick my favourite one, I was totally head over heels with the Orange Flower & Lychee combo. I’ve been told that each scent is inspired by a different destination. My favourite, the Orange Flower & Lychee blend is redolent of a Moroccan garden. It’s a scent that is perfectly wearable for warmer weather, but I absolutely love the atmosphere it creates in my bathroom when it’s cold and rainy outside, makes me go on a vacation …in my head.

The reason why I chose Orange Flower & Lychee as my favourite is because the smell was so different from the usual scents. It is enjoyably sweet (but definitely not “girly” sweet) because of the lychee, yet slightly citrus because of a touch of bitter orange.

To me personally, there’s not that much to say about the body cleanser, except for the fact that it is sulfate-free, which is perfect since I tend to have a sensitive skin type. The body lotion is the perfect addition to the basic body cleanser. It smells great, it fits the smell of the body cleanser nicely and it also makes sure the smell of the aromatic mist lasts longer, without being over-bearing. The lotion is smooth and it doesn’t feel like it’s suffocating my skin at all, which is a very delicate matter to me.

The aromatic mist is actually my favourite product at the moment. When I first opened the bottle, I was kind of afraid the smell would be too strong for me. Fortunately, this was not the case. It’s actually a really good scent to wear every day if you choose too.

Although I put the emphasis on the Orange Flower & Lychee combination right now, the Vanilla & Cedarwood combo is also on my wishlist for the upcoming cold winter months. Oh what can I say… I’m just a sucker for sweet, warm and cosy fragrances.
