Food in Rio: my top 3

My taste buds were in for a treat in Brazil. The local kitchen is simply delicious, especially because of the super fresh ingredients and the rich flavours. Here is my top 3 of favourite places to eat in and around Rio de Janeiro.

#3: Zazá Bistrô Tropical

I especially recommend the cocktails!

#2: Confeitaria Colombo
Rua Gonçalves Dias, 32 – Centro – Rio de Janeiro
Perfect for brunch. The pastry is insanely delicious!

#1: Restaurante Barreado
Estrada dos Bandeirantes, 21.295 – Vargem Grande – Rio de Janeiro
Possibly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Everything is perfect: the location, the service, the atmosphere, the prices and of course the food! The restaurant produces most of its own ingredients and they cook without electricity. The complete place is lit by candle light. Pure magic!
