Sewing with Ikea

YES! I can finally sew! Well, reality obliges me to be a little more modest, so let’s say I know how to do the most basic things with a sewing machine. Still, I’m very proud of what I learned at the ‘Ikea Pop-Up Expo Atelier‘.

Claudine Cochez of Stoffen Eclips was the one to teach me and my fellow bloggers how to make an invertable bag with a pocket for your phone. She is so nice and knows exactly how to introduce a newbie like me to the world of sewing.

Britt and Tom from the lovely Woonblog were there as well. Britt and I discovered we both have a lack of patience when it comes to sewing, but we’re both quite stubborn too, so we finished our bags nevertheless.

And here it is: my very first sewn piece! I’m really glad Ikea offered me this workshop. It gave me the opportunity to open my eyes to the possibilities of fabric, even when you’re not a sewing expert. I’ll definitely make and customize some interior pieces in the future.

The Ikea Pop-Up Expo Atelier is still open until the 20th of October from 11am to 6pm at Waterloolaan/Boulevard de Waterloo 8 in Brussels.
