Rio: Vogue Fashion’s Night Out

Yes! My first Vogue event!
Vogue Brasil organized its first edition of Fashion’s Night Out in Rio de Janeiro and since I was on my trip to Brazil, I simply had to go. My incredible CouchSurfing host Chico was the one to inform me and we went together to the very pretty Shopping Leblon for the big night.

Of course we had to have our picture taken. I think it’s great to see our transcontinental differences in style. I can tell you one thing: Brazilians love their prints and colours. However, our taste was exactly the same when it came to the free champagne and cocktails we got in almost every shop.

Something else you could find in most shops was great music. Lots of shops had even invited dj’s to play all night long.

A Fashion’s Night Out wouldn’t be a Fashion’s Night Out without… fashion. I had heard promising words about the Brazilian brand Osklen, so I had to check out the store. I tried some pieces, among which was this pretty tee, but in the end my favourites were or not available in my size or simply too expensive.

However, the event wasn’t just about fashion and free drinks (although both played a significant role). I also visited the beautiful Livraria da Travessa. It’s a book shop I wouldn’t mind to live in. Still, fashion was involved, since I bought ‘Schiaparelli Fashion Review, paper dolls in full color by Tom Tierney‘.

We stayed at the event until 2am. Now let’s all make the Antwerp Fashion Night as fun and memorable as this event.
