Sleep Under the Stars
We didn’t have to think twice when we heard we could sleep on the beach in comfortable beds as a celebration of one of the most iconic visual artists of the past decades, Storm Thorgerson. Fort Napoleon in the Belgian coastal city of Ostend is dedicating an exhibition to the works and life of this remarkable man who is especially known for the album covers of Pink Floyd. I decided to enter his surrealist world and wear my finest Magritte outfit for the occasion.
One of my favourite couples, Sofie and Tars, joined me in the experience. Julie was there as well with her Studio Brussel O-team, including dudes in morphsuits.
The event was largely supported by Eastpak and its recent campaign ‘When was the last time you did something for the first time?’, which completely fitted the concept. The free concert, documentary, fries and drinks, along with a great mix of people and a 6 o’clock morning swim made it an experience not easy to forget.
