A Night Out with Yelp
The event and hotspot review site Yelp.com is extremely popular on the other side of the Atlantic, but in Belgium it’s still taking its first baby steps. Yet, since the launch of Yelp.be, a group of exciting people has embraced the network and tries to spread the word. These people also happen to like to party, so my friend Els and I gladly accepted their invitation for the Yelp event at Ultimatum last week.

Ultimatum, with its lovely terrasse in front of the town hall of Antwerp, was the perfect location. The Yelp Community Manager for Antwerp, Maud Nujar, not only did a good job with the right bar, but also spoiled us with shot games and fantastic finger food.

The Yelp event was also a good occasion to get to know new people. We met Jeroen Suyckerbuyck from Eyeful.be and his lovely friend, with whom we spent the most part of the event talking about eyewear, fashion, blogging and the city. Els knows the owner of Ultimatum (photo) personally and introduced me to this wonderful woman. She has a big heart for her business and for the city of Antwerp.

Later that night I discovered that inside a make up artist was creating a Joker look on the face of one of the bartenders. Another discovery was that the event also attracted famous Belgians from the music industry, like Natalia and Tom Barman.
Yelp really organized a great night on a great location with great people and – everybody loved this aspect too – free drinks and food. Thanks!
