La Cambre 2012 : Photo Report

It’s a very busy period behind the scenes for Strutter View right now, but I don’t want you to miss my selection of this year’s La Cambre fashion show. So here it is with a slight delay!
To me, these two looks somehow summarize my view on La Cambre: the experiment with materials, colours, forms, accessories, make-up and original presentations.

My favourite men’s collection of the complete show has to be the one of Amanda Portier. I’d definitely wear those clothes if I could.

The following looks were so visual and entertaining. Besides the cool, colourful objects, I really like the different volumes too.

I really appreciate the work of Emmanuelle Lebas. I fully agree with essentielle.be for giving this young designer their award of 2012.

The two finalist of La Cambre Mode brought strong collections. Louise Leconte showed how to give a very contemporary feel to the theme of knights.

Gioia Seghers, the other finalist, actually showed me how beautiful fur can be in an outfit. It’s been a while since I saw that material being used in such a great way.

Overall, I discovered some new and exciting talent during this year’s show. Yet, I have to say that there were more students last year that caught my attention. I guess to me, this year had some high quality, focused in a lower quantity. Still, I was one happy spectator!
