From the Royal Ballet to Kissinger
Saturday I went to see Sleeping Beauty with Leila. We both really love to go to the ballet. Of course it wasn’t allowed to take pictures during the show but I took one before it started . We had such great seats. As Leila said , you could smell the hairspray of the dancers.
Sleeping Beauty was really beautiful. The costumes, the decor & the technique of the dancers, everything was great. The only thing that was a pity was the choice of leading lady. Aki Saito is a great dancer but because she’s asian it’s a bit weird. It looked like she was adopted. Besides this little detail; great performance. This was their second show of the day and you didn’t notice this at all. Geneviève Van Quaquebeke played the part of the good fairy. Such a good dancer! My ultimate favorite was Alain Honorez, I already saw him dance in the Swan Lake. He is perfect for these kind of parts where he plays a demon or witch. Just superbe. One thing is sure: Leila and I will be going back to see the Royal Ballet of Flanders.
After the show we went to meet up with some friends. Most of the time we go to this hilarious bar : Marmite. Leila couldn’t join us to go to Kissinger because she had to work for school. Good luck sweetie! When Vincent arrived, we took a taxi to Kissinger.
It wasn’t that crowded but we had a lot of fun. In the blue room they played house and in the small red room they played some old skool tunes. “Vanilla, ice, ice baby”.
Vincent and I both agree that Kissinger is probably a good replacement for our beloved Café Capital.
Who’s going next weekend?
