New Life

A month ago I took some pictures of my pregnant friend Esther. Well, I’ve got some good news, last thursday night her son was born. His name is Athan. Of course I took pictures of this new life!  Some of you might know, but my birthday was yesterday. So this good news made my birthday even better!

I took all the pictures with my new camera, a Nikon V1. I’ll post a review later this week. First I have to test every function! So far , I’m quite pleased with it! All these pictures were taken in a poor light condition without a flash.

So the father is from Antwerp but the mother is originally Dutch. That’s why they served a typical Dutch tradition during our visit. It is a round toast with little, with sugar covered, sprinkles of anise. At first I wasn’t a big fan of the flavor but now I can appreciate it. It’s probably a bit weird because in Belgium we only have chocolate sprinkles, which is a lot sweeter!
