Une Parisienne à Anvers

I was so surprised when my Parisian friend Marion sent me a message to tell that she would arrive in Antwerp four hours later. Luckily I hadn’t made plans, so we had an amazing day together. One of her French friends Hugo came along and he was really a nice dude.
We had lunch at Lunchbox (Nieuwstad 8-10 / Theaterplein, 2000 Antwerp) after I had picked them up at the central station. Afterwards we dropped all their bags at their youth hostel Boomerang (Lange Leemstraat 95, 2018 Antwerp). It’s such a nice place with a wonderful bohemian vibe.
We did some shopping until 6pm, followed by some fine Belgian beers at the iconic jazz café De Muze (Melkmarkt 15, 2000 Antwerp). Both Marion and Hugo were a big fan of the De Koninck beer aka Bolleke. Of course I also had to show my French visitors the historical center of Antwerp. They were quite impressed.
We met again after dinner in front of the town hall and that’s when I made the picture. I then guided them to my favourite bar called Homey (Sint-Paulusplaats 24, 2000 Antwerp). Our next stop was the Red Light District, because both of them had never been in one. They were quite impressed.
Afterwards we went to the cocktail bar De Vuile Was (Grote Pieter Potstraat 16A, 2000 Antwerp) where we drank Long Island Iced Teas. We finished the night and greeted the morning at Bar Nadar (Ernest van Dyckkaai 19-20, 2000 Antwerpen), where there was a great party.
It’s needless to say that we all had an amazing time together. Seeing Marion back was so incredible and I hope to go back to Paris shortly to return the favour.
