Budapest Day 2

The second day my friend Lena was our guide. I met her in Nice a couple of years ago. She lives and studies in Budapest so she knows her way around.

Because of the heat (30 degrees) we went all the way up the hill to the Statue of Liberty. There was a soft breeze and we had a fantastic view of the city.

For lunch we went back to fashion street. There is a saladbar named fruccola. You can mix your own salad or eat a sandwich with a fresh juice. For less than 8 euro’s you can have a good and healthy lunch.

After an italian dinner we went to a bar called Szimpla Kert. It was located in a huge ruined house. On every level was a different room with movie screens and original furniture. I loved it! Such a cool concept. I can’t show you any picture because my iPhone + no light = fail. But if you google it you’ll know what I mean. The bar was located in area VII. This part of Budapest is becoming more and more popular. A lot of cool bars and pubs in open air which is perfect during a warm summer in this city. So don’t forget to visit this part of Pest if you are ever in Budapest.

Next stop Vienna & Prague! Can’t wait

Julie

Ps: You may have noticed that I’m experimenting with Iphoneography, I’ll post a photography post about my Olloclip+iPhone after my trip!
