Festival Fever

Yes! It’s finally that day of the year again. The day when most Belgian youngsters are leaving for Pukkelpop! Yes I know… I promised you guys to give you my ultimate top ten acts on Pukkelpop this year but some things came up and I decided to just share my 3 favourite artists with you today. So that makes 6 in total now right (remember Tune Yards, Fitz and the Tantrums and Teddiedrum?).

Oh and by the way, the photos you see here were taken by my beloved boyfriend at our trip to Milan 2 weeks ago! We did a little nap in the beautiful park, so don’t mind my tired face (we had to get up at 3am to catch our plane!). The outfit I’m wearing is so comfortable but still very summery. Perfect for a warm day at the festivals! I’m wearing a New Look shirt, vintage Levis 501xx high waist denim shorts and my boyfriend’s Ray Ban sunglasses.

Soooo where were we? Oh yes the music of course. The artist I’m dying for to see is Wolf Gang. I’m such a big fan of his music from the very first moment I heard it. A couple of weeks ago he released his album and this is his most recent video! I even dare to say he’s my favourite artist at the moment. When I saw the announcement on the Pukkelpop website, I immediately called my boyfriend, tears in my eyes of happiness, pure happiness. So yes what can I say, I’ll DEFINITELY be front row.

My other all-time favourite is Apparat. This is one of most beloved artist for a couple of years as well. I know him for a very long time now but I never got the chance to see him with his “Apparat Band”. You probably know him for his 2006 album ‘Orchestra of Bubbles’ which was co-produced with Allen Allien. This album is more “dancy”, just music to hit the dancefloors. A big difference with his album “Walls”, personally my favourite album…ever! The music on this album is so different and that’s why he started the Apparat Band, so he could play these songs live. He’ll be presenting his new album on Pukkelpop and I am certainly looking forward to it! This is my favourite song on the old album “Walls” and I know, the quality of the video sucks big time (it’s not even a real Apparat video by the way). Just close your eyes and listen to this little piece of magic.

And now, last but not least my last choice! It was a reeeealllly difficult selection. At first I chose ‘Foster The People’ but unfortunately they cancelled all of their European shows so I had to choose a new third place!

Fenech-Soler is a young electro-pop band from London. I have to be honest with you guys, I actually didn’t know the band a couple of weeks ago. My boyfriend got me to listen to it. I really didn’t like it at first but now this song makes my day a whole lot better if I listen to it in the mornings. Besides, my boyfriend also promised me we’re going to dance like crazy fools when they are playing, so they really deserve a spot on this blog, right?

Are you guys going to Pukkelpop?

PS: Don’t forget to check out our Belgian pride on this festival: Broken Glass Heroes, Amatorski, Puggy, Mumbai Science, Highbloo, The Subs, SX, Yuko and of course Teddiedrum really deserve your attention too.
