Lunch in Breda

When you see the interior of the restaurant/lounge bar Parc located on the Grote Markt 20 at Breda, you wouldn’t expect to find the most famous fast food dish of the Netherlands on their lunch menu. The Dutch call it a Broodje Kroket, it’s some sort of meat croquette on a sandwich. You can even buy it at vending machines on the streets.

But the variation they serve at Parc during lunch time is much more refined. The croquette is from a well known brand called Van Dobben and it’s served with a truffle mayonnaise and a fresh salad. You can choose between three types of bread : white, mediterranean, and Waldkorn.
Besides the famous dutch dish you can also order other original sandwiches during lunch hour. My dad tried a mediterranean sandwich with fried chicken combined with a fresh mango chutney and a tarragon mayonnaise. They served it with a green salad with red peppers. So if you’re ever in Breda don’t forget to try these original sandwiches.
